    About Us:

We are an emerging genetic analysis laboratory committed to providing advanced genetic testing services to support curiosity, ancestry and wellness needs. As a new entity, we are in the process of establishing our operations, aiming to become a leader in the genetic analysis industry in the Baltics.

    Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Laboratory Manager to oversee the initial setup and ongoing operations of our NGS-focused genetic analysis laboratory. This role is critical during the foundational phase of our lab, involving tasks from procurement of reagents and managing inventory to hands-on execution of genetic analyses. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to shape the operational structure of the lab, contribute to strategic planning, and, as we grow, lead the expansion of our team and the training of new staff members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the setup of the laboratory, including the procurement of necessary reagents, equipment, and other supplies essential for operations.
    • Manage inventory and ensure a reliable supply chain for all laboratory consumables, minimizing downtime and ensuring the lab operates efficiently.
    • Perform genetic analyses using NGS technologies, maintaining high standards of quality control.
    • Develop and implement operational protocols to ensure efficient workflow and optimal use of resources.
    • Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working condition, scheduling regular maintenance and calibrations as needed.
    • Plan for future growth, including the recruitment and training of laboratory personnel to expand operational capacity.
    • Establish a culture of continuous improvement, staying updated with advancements in NGS technologies and operational best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a high-throughput genetic testing or clinical diagnostics laboratory.
    • Experience in regulatory compliance and quality assurance in a laboratory setting.
    • Deep understanding of NGS platforms and processes, especially sample preparation.
    • Strong operational management skills, with a proven track record in streamlining workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and projects.
    • Practical experience in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is advantageous.

    We Offer:

    • A unique opportunity to be part of setting up a new genetic analysis laboratory.
    • Competitive salary and benefits package.
    • The chance to grow with the laboratory and shape its future direction.
    • A dynamic work environment where innovation and initiative are valued.
    • Professional development opportunities as the laboratory expands.

This role is perfect for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional eager to play a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of a cutting-edge genetic analysis laboratory. Join us on this exciting journey as we strive to make a significant impact in the field of genetics.
